13-year-old student dies from self-inflicted gunshot wound sustained at school

A 13-year-old 7th grade Ohio student has succumbed to a gunshot wound he sustained two days ago on February 20, 2018. The boy has been identified as Keith Simons.

Authorities are searching for the motive and say Simon shot himself with a rifle in a bathroom before classes began at Jackson Memorial Middle School in Jackson Township.

It has been reported Simons also had a "distraction device" on him but Police Chief Mark Brink denied it was a bomb. Chief Brink said Simons who role the school bus to school shortly before the shooting concealed the rifle under his clothing.
